Braces & Aligners

Dental braces are devices that align and straighten teeth and help position them with regard to a person’s bite, while also aiming to improve dental health. Braces also fix gaps. They are used to correct under bites, as well as malocclussions, overbites, open bites, deep bites, cross bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Braces have constant pressures which, over time, move teeth into the desired positions.

What are Braces?

Braces are made of metal or porcelain and are attached to your teeth. Metal wires and rubber bands are then used to provide a force to help the teeth move into the correct position.

What are Aligners?

Aligners are made of plastic and are custom made to fit your teeth. Each aligner moves the teeth step by step towards the final position.

Invisalign is a favourite for adults and older teens for its aesthetic quality. You should wear your aligners 18-22 hours a day. Aligners should be removed for eating and drinking (except for water), rinsed, and put back on as soon as you’ve brushed..
ComfortComfort Traditional braces come with a variety of pokey metal attachments and wires, creating more opportunities to create sores on your cheeks, lips, or tongue.
Because the course of treatment with aligners is plotted from the beginning, it’s easier to spread out movements to limit discomfort.
